I don’t think the Salvo’s mission statement concerns itself with providing cheap antiques to collectors and re-sellers and why should it? If all you want are cannisters there are always plenty in store a few dollars or if people are in real need the Salvo’s will give them essential items for free.
If what you really want is the thrill of a bargain – then they are still there to be found, just keep your eyes peeled, stay ahead of the trends and be happy to buy something just because you like it.

And maybe re-think calling the Salvos ‘greedy’ you know? …pot/kettle/black ?

Actually, you’ve inspired me to write a post on my progress which I will do shortly. I never stated that I’d would be perfect rather that my experiment would be stumbling and bumbling. A journey to try and improve my environmental footprint. I believe I have come a long way and am actually proud of a lot of things that I have achieved in that context.

Yes we bought a new car – my husband’s decision that made him happy at a very personally difficult time and although what I am doing is hopefully filtering down to my family I can’t impose my will and beliefs on anyone.
